Charlie has a BSc in Ecology from Victoria University and Masters in Environmental Management from Massey University specialising in the consenting of threewater infrastructure. Charlie has over a decade of experience working in the private sector and several councils, with projects ranging from presenting evidence in the Environment Court, drafting judicial reviews on national policy statements, and representing landowners rights in alternate dispute resolution.

Here at Derive, we are passionate about taking the machete to red tape and implementing solutions that are bespoke to our client's needs. We are driven by sustainable development goals, and constantly strive for a better tomorrow.

    Charlie

    Charlie started Derive with a focus on relationship building and problem solving. Charlie’s qualifications and experience relate to freshwater management, land development, and infrastructure consenting. He has a decade of experience in local government processes, implementation of legislation and policy, and most recently team leadership. Charlie is based in Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai and is passionate about time spent in the bush or at the river.

    Shaun

    Shaun joined Derive with a passion for resource management and ecology. His qualifications and experience relate to environmental consenting, ecological consulting and GIS. He has over 5 years of experience working in various local government roles and restoring the whenua through hands-on ecological fieldwork. Shaun has recently relocated to Te Whanganui-a-Tara from sunny Nelson and is passionate about spending time out in the waves, up in the hills, or quietly painting away the rainy days.
